SPECIAL OLYMICS MICHIGAN ATHLETES GO FOR THE GOLD AT TIMBER RIDGE

The brightly burning Olympic Flame of Hope will light the hillside of Timber Ridge on January 24th, 2012 for the Southwest Regional Special Olympics Michigan Winter Games. The Timber Ridge Ski Team will carry the torch during the Opening Ceremony at 9:45 a.m. as 1,000 Special Olympics Michigan athletes, coaches, volunteers and spectators gather to participate.

Athletes will “Go for the Gold” in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snow

Boarding and Snow Shoeing beginning at 10 a.m.

The Special Olympic Movement transforms communities by inspiring people to open their

minds to accept and include people with intellectual disabilities, and by celebrating differences among

all people recognizing and respecting the similarities we share.

Be a part of our movement.  Join us for our Opening Ceremony to cheer on athletes as they “Go for the Gold”, or make a financial contribution by clicking on the PayPal donation icon. Our Games are entirely supported by individual contributions and corporate support. All of our programs are provided at no cost to athletes or their family members.
