Brian Kaufman - Skiing History & Profile

Brian Kaufman has taught and coached skiing for over 16 years. He began by teaching beginning skiers at Swiss Valley Ski Area in 1993. From 1993-1995 he raced USSA moguls and freestyle in the central US high-school division. From there he taught beginning through advanced skiing classes at Michigan Tech University, including back-country hiking and skiing, including deep powder techniques. In 2003 he began teaching at Timber Ridge Ski Area and acquired his PSIA Level II teaching certification. Brian Kaufman also coaches freestyle skier training camps at Boyne Mountain in Petoskey, MI. Brian manages and coaches NASTAR public racing at Timber Ridge, and has been a NASTAR pacesetter for the past 4 years for Timber Ridge also.
