Description Our annual slopestyle competition for boarders and skiers has gotten an upgrade. Come out to the Pumpkin and Timber Terrain parks for a Sunday afternoon of music and athleticism, February 7th, 2010 to see the best of the best throw down for prizes and recognition. Awards categories include Intermediate Freeskier, Intermediate Snowboarder, Advanced Freeskier, Advanced Snowboarder, and Ladies! NEW this year, Timber Ridge is partnering with WKTV in Wyoming/Kentwood to produce a feature for public television focusing on the athletes of this Feb. 7th event. This film will be professionally-produced with areal cameras, graphic on-screen scoring and interviews with the athletes. Luke and Adam Schrab and Adam Funk will bring the action to you...stay tuned for air time and date. Date & Time & Location Registration at the Ski Shop from 9am to Noon on Sunday, 2/7/10 Both parks open for practice until just before the event Parks closed down to the public during each round of competition Competitor meeting at 12:30 at Podium (base of terrain parks) Heats begin at 1 pm with Intermediate in the Pumpkin Park and Advanced in the Timber Park Head-to-head, single-elimination finals for Intermediate in Pumpkin Park at 4:30pm Advanced finals under the lights at 7 pm Awards and prizes immediately following the event at Podium Registration Information $20 entry fee covers event registration, t-shirt and raffle drawing entry! Lift tickets available to competitors for $20...$13 off regular prices. Competitors must be 18 years or older and fill out a registration form and a liability waiver Click Here Competitors under 18 will need a parent’s signature to compete. Prelims will consist of 2 judged runs through the terrain park for each athlete. The entire run will count...all rails and airs attempted will be considered part of the score. Advanced athletes must compete in Timber Park and Intermediate athletes must compete in Pumpkin Park. Intermediate athletes are limited to 540 degree spins. The top 8 athletes from each division will be chosen based on the best score from the two preliminary runs. Finals will be a single-elimination, head-to-head format. That means the 1st place athlete will face off against the 8th place and whoever wins that run will continue on to the next round of competition. 2nd place will face 7th, 3rd will face 6th, and 4th will face 5th. Prizes and awards Prizes will be awarded along with medals for each category of competition. All athletes will automatically be included in a raffle to be conducted during awards at Timber Park. Award categories include Intermediate Freeskier, Intermediate Snowboarder, Advanced Freeskier, Advanced Snowboarder, and Ladies. Safety Helmets must be worn at all times. This event is suited primarily for athletes with significant terrain park and rail sliding experience. Event and ski area assumes no responsibility for who may or may not participate so use your best judgment!
Description An annual rail jam series at Timber Ridge and Swiss Valley, the two most progressive ski areas in southwest Michigan. Midwest’s Best Skiers and Snowboarders will throw down their best tricks Friday nights at 6:30 in the evening in the terrain parks throughout the 2010 season. Prizes will be awarded in numerous categories including skiing, snowboarding, females, and overall one hill against the other! The Swiss Valley riders will attempt to win back the travelling trophy that Timber Ridge took home after last year’s final fight!
Dates & Times & Locations Registration is from 5:00 pm to 6:25 pm before every event. Registration Information $30 entry fee covers all six rail jams, event T-shirt, and raffle drawing entry! The sooner, the better ‘cause it will still cost you $30 if you choose to wait until the 6th Fight! See lift ticket windows for registration location. Lift tickets will be available to paying competitors that do not have a season pass at that Fight’s location for a discounted rate of ½ off normal Friday night pricing. Competitors must be 18 years or older and fill out a registration form and a liability waiver from both hills. Competitors under 18 will need a parent’s signature to compete. Prizes and awards Prizes will be awarded along with medals for each category of competition. All athletes will automatically be included in a raffle, which will be held at Timber Ridge on the last night of competition. Athletes must be present to win small prizes—large prizes will be stored until the athlete can stop by in case they are unable to make the final jam. As you know, a totally cool Best in the Midwest Travelling Terrain Park Trophy will be awarded to the hill that averages the most points throughout the series!
Safety Helmets must be worn at all times. This rail jam event is suited primarily for athletes with significant terrain park and rail sliding experience. Competitors may only have 1 or 2 rails from which to choose for their tricks. Event and ski area assumes no responsibility for who may or may not participate so use your best judgment!
