2/11/2012 Saturday, Slopestyle Event at Timber Ridge Ski Area is Open to the Public

Description
The Timber Ridge annual slopestyle competition for boarders and skiers has gotten an upgrade.  In addition to skier and snowboarder tricks on the snow in the Pumpkin and Timber Terrain parks, there will be music and prizes.  The events is Saturday, February 11, 2012. 

 

Date & Time & Location

  • Registration for participants is at the Resort's Ski Shop from 8AM - 10AM  on Saturday, 2/11/12.
  • Both parks open for practice until just before the event.
  • Parks closed down to the public for skiing and snowboard during each round of competition.  But are open for viewing the event.
  • Prelims at 10:30AM in the Timber Park.
  • Heats begin immediately thereafter with Beginners in the Pumpkin Park and Pros in the Timber Park.
  • Finals at 2:30PM
  • Swag, prizes and Tunes.

Registration Information for Participants
$30 entry fee covers event registration and raffle drawing entry.  See registration desk for $10 lift ticket.  Competitors 18 years or older must fill out a registration form and a liability waiver.  Competitors under 18 will need a parent's signature to compete.  Rlease Form can be found at: www.timberridgeski.com

Rules and Format
Prelims will consist of 2 judged runs through the Timber Park for Pros and 2 judged runs through the Pumpkin Park for Beginners.  Both runs will count and will be averaged.  Beginners will be awarded based on their standing at this point, but the top 8 Pros and Ladies will have the opportunity to qualify for single-elimination head-to-head competition in the Timber Park, which will be held to determine the top 4 places in Pro Skier, Pro Boarder, and Ladies classes.

Prizes and awards
Prizes will be awarded along with medals for each category of competition.  All athletes will automatically be included in a raffle to be conducted during awards at the Hitchin’ Post.  Awards categories include Beginner Skier, Beginner Boarder, Pro Skier, Pro Snowboarder, and Ladies.

Safety
Helmets must be worn at all times.  This event is suited primarily for athletes with significant terrain park and rail sliding experience.  Event and ski area assumes no responsibility for who may or may not participate so use your best judgment.
Helmets are available for rent at Timber Ridge.
